The series of six numbers on the left side of the receiver is the serial number of the Japanese Arisaka Type 38, which is 749348. The Type designation was stamped into the top of the receiver using the character shiki for 'type' and Japanese numerals. I believe it's a Nagoya Series 4, serial number 13275.
